Question: How did you find out about Vic?
Answer: We had gone to the place where they have the bathroom fixtures and we asked the names of people that do work on bathrooms. Vic was one of the names we were given. We called him and he came with several other people that came to give estimates. Question: So you had several estimates? Answer: Yes. But my husband decided Vic was the most qualified out of all the contractors. Question: How did he determine that? Answer: My husband is an engineer. The way Vic explained the job and what my husband wanted…they agreed and understood each other, in terms of what they needed to do in the bathroom. Question: Did you get other bids? Answer: Yes. Question: How did his bid compare to the others? Answer: I would say it was in line, maybe a bit higher but once the work was done, we were very pleased. Question: Did you work with Vic on the look of the bathroom? Answer: My husband and I happened to go away on a weekend. While in a hotel, we saw a bathroom that happened to be quite small. We were contemplating doing our bathroom over and my husband sketched it out. Basically, we went from there. And Vic worked with my husband's sketch. (Husband) I made a rough sketch which showed an outline of what we were looking for. We sat around and Vic told us what we could and couldn't do. Question: Did you like working with Vic off the sketches? Answer: Yes. Question: Did Vic live up to his estimate? Answer: Yes. The only thing was the schedule. He couldn't get it done during Christmas, which I understood. So he couldn't get started until after that. I think the work was done well. We have no complaints. Question: Were the people that came over to do the demolition polite? Answer: Yes. Extremely polite. Question: Did they come when they said they would? Answer: Yes. They did. They were considerate with the house and cleaned up when they were through. The cleanup was meticulously done every day. Question: Did Vic come and check up on the job? Answer: Yes. Basically everyday. He made sure everything was progressing according to our satisfaction. Question: Would you recommend Vic? Answer: Yes. As an engineer, part of my job was to do contractor evaluations, vendor equipment evaluations, that kind of thing. We had at least three contractors come and see the bathroom and I showed them exactly the same sketch. They were asked to give me a quote based on what was on the sketch. Vic was actually the higher bidder of the three. For some reason, I just felt that Vic could be trusted to do a good job. Question: How did you determine that? Answer: Forty-six years of engineering practice. He just seemed to have the right attitude and I just felt comfortable with him. The level of comfort was higher than with the other two guys. |
